Marriage Resilience
31 Days Project
re·sil·ience noun
the ability of a substance or object to spring back into shape. A study by the RAND Corporation, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense, reports that the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have had an impact on service members' marriages; namely, that long deployments increase the risk of divorce. In 2011, USA Today found that the military divorce rate was at the highest level since 1999, and according to the Department of Defense, it has been rising steadily for the past ten years. At AFM we are on a mission to build marriage resilience. |
Is it possible an ancient book holds the key to relationship principles that can transform a good marriage into an incredible marriage? Could these same principles also restore a marriage filled with hopelessness? Could such principles make a difference in only 31 days? Yes, yes and yes. Whether you are preparing to soon say, "I do" or you are ready to throw in the towel saying, "I'm done" your marriage needs resilience for it to be what you really want it to be. The 31 Days Project opens the door to the substance of resilience that every marriage needs to spring back and become everything you hoped it would be the day you said, "I do".
To help launch your 31 Days Project Chaplain Kenneth Koon has written Thirty-one Days From Now. Over the course of 31 days Ken will help you understand how to implement the ancient relationship principles that have strengthened his marriage of 30 years and those he has counseled in both military and civilian communities. "Men and women of uniform, my family and I are blessed by your sacrifice! My wife and I know marriage is not an easy life. To give up is not the answer. If you work at your marriage, you will have a best friend that you are honored and blessed to be with. Kenneth has put together a challenge for you, and if you take up his challenge, I believe your marriage can flourish.
31 Days From Now will give you the direction to make your marriage sweet. Challenge yourself, and your marriage to be what God intended it to be." Sid Bream, Atlanta Braves |
"Thirty-one Days From Now is a book of wisdom, with a foundation of truth from the Word of God, and in particular from Proverbs, and fleshed out in personal experience. Ken’s journey may just help you to navigate life well and leave a legacy of blessing and strength."

We do something we should do anyway and then think we’ve garnered some kind of epic achievement that will cause our wives to worship us as if we had just slain a dragon.
